Project Description

Assurity desired a facility that would convey their investment in the community and commitment to environmental sustainability. The company also desired a welcoming, productive, and collaborative workplace designed for maximum flexibility and integration of technology.

The new 175,000-square-foot headquarters and 600-car parking garage was the first major investment in Lincoln’s Antelope Valley and has served as a catalyst for redevelopment in this area.

The use of limestone and serpentine shapes relates to the meandering waterway of a new adjacent park. The building’s upper floors respect the context of the downtown skyline. A glass perimeter lets in natural light. “Light shelves” reflect and filter light throughout the large volume of space. More than 90 percent of the interior work spaces feature views to the outdoor landscape and park.

Designed to meet LEED Gold standards, the facility incorporates numerous sustainable, water conserving, and energy efficient features, including a partial ice storage cooling system and green roofs.

Concrete Industries, a NEBCO, Inc. company, supplied the structural and exterior precast products for the build.
